Feeding (Food, Water and Medicines/Vitamins) of 45 Days Old Chicks

Feeds (Crumble) and Water mixed with Antibacterial / Vitamin supplements
Feeding Ration

Day 1 - 10 days old:  Feed your chicken with chicks booster rather than chicks starter.

Days 11 - 42 days old:  Feed your chicken with chicks crumble.

Days 43 - slaughter:  Feed your chicken with finisher mass.

I suggest not to do any experimentation on your chicken feeds - the feeds that you bought in an agrivet shop has a complete nutrition your chickens needs.

Water Consumption

Must use fresh and clean water, mix antibacterial and vitamins to your chicken daily drinking water if possible (as per veterinarian advised) - just a little amount to make the water yellowish in color.  Sometimes our tap water is not good since it contains chlorine and other chemicals that affects the chicken digestions, but its a rare case.

Medication

If possible, don't provide your chickens with any medication if not required especially for broilers.

How To Select Your Day Old Chicks

Typical Chicken Cage
Here are helpful tips to choose your day old chicks:

  • Buy them on a poultry farm house near your place that breed broiler chicks.
  • Or at the agrivet (agribusiness) shop (not in a pet shop), most of the time they sells day old chicks on a given schedule.  Better yet, ask them when they will receive their next delivery of their day old chicks.
  • Choose day old chicks that are energetic in appearance, you must pick your on choice of chicks one by one for assurance.
  • Do not buy day old chicks to a place that is very far from your place since it will stressed out your chicks that sometimes lead to their death due to heat, no water and food available for them for a long trip.
  • Put your day old chicks on a comfortable box for transporting, not too crowded for them.
  • Make sure you have your chicken cage ready when you buy your chicks.
  • Allow them several minutes rest before giving food and water.
